5 Ways to Tap Into Your Creative Nature

Creativity and HealthEveryone is creative and if you are having trouble coming up with creative ideas, there are some creative things that you can do to increase your creativity. As a result of your creative efforts, you can improve overall cognitive functioning and brain health.

Design or Create Something

Whether you're looking to design a custom piece of clothing or create a new website, it's helpful to start a project of some sort so that you can get your creative juices flowing. If you like fashion, get a piece of fabric and create something, like your own custom neon tank top or t-shirt. You can also create a fashion board by taking a large piece of cardboard and cut out pictures of magazines and see what you come up with.

Don’t think too hard about what you are creating, it is better to go with your first instinct when creating something. If you have children, you can take various scarp material such as bottle tops, cans, bottles, cardboard, paper and many other materials and see what kind of toys that you can make.

Listen To Music

Listen to music to become more creative. If you like to listen to a particular genre of music, expand your taste and listen to a genre that you have never listened to or a kind of music that you often do not listen to. This makes you creatively expand as a result of experiencing a new sound. You should also dance as it is also inspires you. You can take a dance class and this will make you feel more creative. You can also dance in the privacy of your home. When dancing, do not be conscious of your dancing talent. Instead concentrate on the music and your own rhythm, whether it is good or bad, just enjoy yourself.

Learn To Play An Instrument

Learning to play an instrument, such as the guitar or piano, is one of the best way that you can get more creative. This is because music makes you more creative and when you learn something new you engage your left part of the brain which is responsible for logical and rational thinking. When you engage your mind in learning something your mind is engaged which makes you more creative.

Taking piano lessons, for example, will help you exercise the right part of the brain which is responsible for the artistic side of your nature. Learning how to play a musical instrument makes this part of the brain active so that you find that you are more creative at the end of the day. The possibilities for such opportunities are abundant. So whether you're interested in piano lessons in Columbia, MO or guitar lessons in Atlanta, GA, you can usually find these programs in any city or town.

Draw And Write

Drawing also engages the creative part of your mind. Get a sketch book and draw and doodle as often as you can. It is important that you draw often so that you will feel and be creative. Writing also makes you more creative. Again, when drawing or writing, do not over think about what you will write about or draw. Just do what first comes into your mind. It is also important that you set a particular time when you draw or write every day.

Spend Time In Nature

When you spend some time looking at aesthetically pleasing things then you will find that you become more creative. Spend some time outdoors in a place that is beautiful. If you like art visit exhibitions and museums to become more creative.

Exploiting your creative nature takes some effort, so don't hold back. Your cognitive health and wellness depends on it.
